WINTER FASHION: VINTAGE CLOGGAGE




They don't make 'em like the used to! Vintage shoes are always awesome to me because they have a character and a coolness that is lacking in a lot of shoes nowadays. I love clogs because there's the authenticity factor, plus they give you height without feeling unstable ;)

THE QUEST FOR GREEN SHOES



Despite the wonderful, positive sea change happening with green fashion, I've only come across 1 company making well designed, affordable green shoes for mass market close to the Cradle to Cradle standards, and that's Zaha Hadid's Melissa Shoes. Melissas are infinitely recyclable, non-toxic, ethically manufactured, and look AWESOME. Though Keds is making an effort, using 20% recycled rubber in your shoe soles is just making a shoe"less bad", and not taking it far enough. Veja makes cool sneakers as well, but they still use leather, which I can't consider green. The quest continues...

GRASS JEWELRY





These beautiful, sustainable pieces of jewelry remind me a lot of crop circle patterns -- often the grass is pressed in spiral patterns. Apparently the glossy grass used in the jewelry is grown in Brazil. by Nugaard.

ENVIRO-POTA TOTE

Go Brendan! This is one of the coolest eco-conscious illustrations i've ever seen. I love the idea of the Earth as this cute little sleeping dirt/root creature. I found this at Little Paper Planes.
