Malachite is one of the coolest minerals out there. It's recently been emerging from the design world in many incarnations. Metaphysically, it's a stone of great power, representing the heart chakra's green ray. The ancient Egyptians buried their pharaohs with malachite amulets over their hearts for protection. The Russians turned it into a decadent interior decoration. To me, it has a haunting beauty.
